Formed in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, The HU emerged as a groundbreaking force in the global rock and metal scene, blending traditional Mongolian instrumentation, such as the morin khuur, tovshuur and tumur khuur, and throat singing with contemporary heavy rock. Founded by producer Dashka and featuring members Gala, Jaya, Temka and Enkush, the band quickly gained international recognition for their distinctive “hunnu rock” sound, which fuses ancient musical traditions with modern energy.
The HU rose to worldwide prominence with their 2019 debut album, “The Gereg,” which featured viral hits such as “Yuve Yuve Yu” and “Wolf Totem,” introducing global audiences to their powerful fusion of Mongolian folk elements and hard rock. The band followed with their 2022 sophomore album, “Rumble of Thunder,” delivering fan-favorite tracks including “Black Thunder” and “This Is Mongol,” further expanding their international presence and critical acclaim. Fans received a surprise when The HU was featured as the in-universe band for the “Star Wars Jedi” video game series, introducing their distinctive sound to a new global audience through the franchise’s expansive storytelling.
Formed in 1993, Apocalyptica emerged as a pioneering force in symphonic metal and cello-driven rock, blending classical musicianship with the intensity of heavy metal. Originally founded by classically trained cellists, the group gained international attention for their innovative approach to reimagining metal music through orchestral instrumentation.
Apocalyptica first gained widespread recognition with their 1996 debut album, “Plays Metallica by Four Cellos,” which showcased instrumental cello interpretations of iconic Metallica songs and established their signature sound. The group expanded their musical scope with subsequent releases including “Inquisition Symphony” in 1998 and “Cult” in 2000, introducing original compositions and collaborations with prominent rock and metal vocalists. Their 2007 album, “Worlds Collide,” featured standout tracks such as “I’m Not Jesus” with Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and “Not Strong Enough” featuring Shinedown’s Brent Smith, further broadening their international appeal. Apocalyptica continued to evolve with releases such as “Shadowmaker” in 2015 and “Cell-0” in 2020. In 2024, the band revisited their roots with “Plays Metallica, Vol. 2,” a sequel to their groundbreaking debut that reimagines additional Metallica classics while celebrating the project that first launched their international career.
Opening the night is fellow Finnish rock group The Ramsus. The band gained international success with their signature blend of alternative rock and gothic-influenced melodies. The Rasmus rose to global prominence with their 2003 album “Dead Letters,” featuring the hit single “In the Shadows,” which topped charts worldwide and became a defining rock anthem of the early 2000s. Known for their atmospheric sound and dynamic live performances, the band continues to tour internationally and release new music, maintaining a devoted global fan base. Doors open at 6 p.m.
